Fairy tales yes or fairy tales no? The significance of the retelling of classic and modern fairy tales to children is the subject of strong conflicting opinions and controversy questioning the true importance and proper place they should occupy in a child’s psychological world. The article presents a brief review of the studies carried out (Guido Petter, Bettelheim) on the therapeutic and pedagogical function of fairy tales, identifying the main elements of fabia that stimulate child development, namely: interest, imagination and rationality, language development, emotional and affective development, and finally moral function.
